Dansand A/S appoints new director

After more than two years’ preparation, as of 31 August 2018, Poul Konrad Beck leaves his position as Managing Director of Dansand A/S. He is succeeded by the present Assistant Managing Director, Thomas Steen Hansen.

- I have prepared the succession for more than two years in collaboration with the Dansand board of directors and I am proud to pass the baton to Thomas Steen Hansen. Thomas has been de facto responsible for the daily management of Dansand for more than a year. The role as Managing Director should be viewed as a confirmation of his present position, says Poul Konrad Beck.

Thomas Steen Hansen, whose background is in the furniture and retail business in Denmark and Germany, has been employed by Dansand since 2016; first as a Sales Manager and, since May 2017, as Assistant Managing Director responsible for manufacturing, sales, marketing, back office and accounts.

- Poul and I have had plenty of time to prepare the succession and we feel very well equipped for our new roles. We have always agreed on the strategic direction of Dansand and, thus, there will be no immediate changes to the organisation. Poul leaves a peak performance company and I plan to continue developing the current Dansand platform, states Thomas Steen Hansen.

As a direct consequence of a period of years with significant growth, Dansand has undergone an extensive organisational development including a streamlining of internal processes and the implementation of a new organisational structure.

- The organisation has been professionalised and there is now a requirement for reinforcement of this professionalism throughout the company’s value chain. For this, Thomas’ profile is just right, says Poul Konrad Beck.

His post as chairman of the Dansand board of directors aside, the central Jutland business man will be actively involved as owner-manager of a number of the companies, in which he has invested, including the property development company Birch Ejendomme, in which he took up the position as chairman of the board in June 2018.

In addition, Poul Konrad Beck will represent Dansand in external contexts, amongst others as the representative of the company within the remits of Dansk Industri/The Confederation of Danish Industry and Danske Raastoffer/Danish Aggregates Association.
